Hello and welcome to redShift

Who We Are

redShift is made up of undergraduate students from Columbia and Barnard with a genuine interest in astronomy and who want to engage with other astronomy students, the department here at Columbia and the community at large. We welcome undergrads that are majoring in Astronomy/Astrophysics, other science disciplines, or people who simply have an interest in the subject.

What We Do

redShift works to connect undergraduates with all the astronomy related resources available at Columbia. We also hope that redShift fosters a supportive community for all its members to pursue their passion of astronomy in any way including the following:

    Weekly Events

    Undergraduate Lunch

Come eat a free lunch with other undergraduates and talk about astro-related events, recent research, and classes!

    When: TBA

Where: Astronomy Library, 14th floor of Pupin

    Public Observing

Stop by College Walk to hang out with redShift and see beautiful views of Jupiter, the Moon, the Orion Nebula, the Pleaides, and whatever else happens to be visible!
